- What are shipping and storage containers made of?
ISO shipping containers are made of 14 gauge corrugated steel. The floors are 1” marine-grade plywood, supported by steel cross beams as an undercarriage. All have double swing cargo doors on 1 end, and some on both ends. The tops and the sides are corrugated and attached to steal rails by strong welds.

Shipping containers come in a variety of sizes. There are 2 standard sizes of ISO containers, they are 8’ x 20’ and 8’ x 40’.
