We prorate your rent by the day after the first 28-day billing cycle, so you don't have to pay for a full month when you only have your mobile containers and offices for a few days.

While other companies may be able to do small container modifications, most don't have an in-house fabrication staff or 90,000 sq ft fabrication facility like we do. As a result, they outsource the work on your custom container, so you don't know who's actually building it.

Rest assured knowing your modified shipping container will be built to the highest quality standards. Our certified weld and quality control inspectors check every step of the fabrication process to ensure everything is structurally sound and built to your specifications.

Supply-chain issues delay opening of Littleton’s Market in Upper Arlington

Despite supply-chain challenges, a co-owner of a new supermarket being built at the Tremont Center hopes to have an outdoor feature open to the public this spring, followed by the opening of the full store in the summer.Work is progressing at what will be Littleton's Market, which will occupy the site of the former UA Food Market, Huffman...

Despite supply-chain challenges, a co-owner of a new supermarket being built at the Tremont Center hopes to have an outdoor feature open to the public this spring, followed by the opening of the full store in the summer.

Work is progressing at what will be Littleton's Market, which will occupy the site of the former UA Food Market, Huffman's Market, Tremont Cardinal and Tom Tarpy's Market. A full renovation of the site will include a roughly 5,000-square-foot expansion of the previous ventures and construction of an outdoor pavilion.

When the project was announced in March, Rob Littleton said he hoped to open Littleton's Market at 2140 Tremont Center by "mid-December." Littleton and his father-in-law Alan Scantland are co-owners.

However, Littleton said delays in obtaining materials brought on by supply-chain issues and supplies going to other large projects in the region have delayed those plans.

Littleton said he hopes the outdoor pavilion, which will be open-air but will be under roof and lined with heaters, will be open by spring. However, he said he's still working out details of what types of food, drinks and community activities might be offered.

"If there's anything I've learned in this, it's pretty unpredictable," Littleton said. "The variables we're dealing with are equipment timelines.

"The pavilion will have gas, water and electric. That's because we have a grill on the pavilion. There's a fireplace, and we've lined it with heaters. It should be about three seasons’ worth of activities we can use it for, including community events like farmers markets and music."

On Nov. 18, crews were preparing to pour the concrete floor for the roughly 15,000-square-foot interior market space, which includes about 5,000 square feet of what formerly was a portion of neighboring First Merchants Bank, 2130 Tremont Center.

Metal framing has been installed in preparation for the installation of coolers and freezers that will line the perimeter of the store's interior, and a wooden frame was in place for a 30-foot by 15-foot skylight over the center of the store and a cafe.

"We're getting everything built out right now so that it's ready for the equipment to come in," Littleton said. "The next step, once we get concrete poured and all the lines dug for all the refrigeration equipment, the electrical, the plumbing … then we can start building the fixtures."

Littleton said the market will focus on high-quality produce, meats, seafood, dry goods and beers and wines. An in-house chef who creates prepared meals, including warm and cold sandwiches and fresh meals.

"The cafe, in the morning it will be espresso drinks, coffee, croissants, breakfast sandwiches," Littleton said. "As the afternoon moves on, we'll start serving lunch and then it'll turn into a wine bar at night, with wine and beer service.

"You can drink in the cafe in here, and you can also take your drinks out to the pavilion outside."

Littleton said the market will seek to reduce food waste as much as possible, using a system where items that are approaching the ends of their shelf lives will be incorporated into prepared foods sold at the cafe and in a prepared foods section.

He said he hopes to establish partnerships with other businesses in the Tremont Center whereby he will sell items from them at the market. He also plans to look for opportunities to support youth programs and other local organizations.

"We hope to benefit the community, to provide a place that makes it easier to gather, have fun and enjoy friends and family," Littleton said. "We also hope to benefit all the other merchants in the center, too. We see it as a collaboration with each of the other vendors.

"I grew up here. I really like the community. I'm here all the time. I think it makes the store so much better to have people who like to come in and enjoy the store and its staff. The community's going to be supporting us, so we want to support them."

While Littleton continues to lock in sourcing for products the market will carry, the management team is researching potential hours of operation. Littleton said the store likely will be open seven days a week.

"The Littleton’s Market project is progressing nicely, with the outdoor pavilion component nearing completion," said Chad Gibson, Upper Arlington's community development director. "The city is excited for the opening of this new business, which will keep Tremont Center vibrant and provide Upper Arlington residents with another high-quality grocery option."

As work continues, Littleton encouraged prospective shoppers to keep an eye on the market's website littletonsmarket.com/, its Instagram and Facebook pages for updates.

The program benefits children and adults in crisis, victims of abuse or neglect, or those experiencing financial hardship, according to Arapahoe County’s website.

To reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, the county asks people to consider donating gift cards, in increments of $25, this year. If residents want to donate an item rather than a gift card, the county listed items it recommends purchasing on its website.

People can drop off donations until Dec. 8 at two locations: Arapahoe County Human Services located at 14980 E. Alameda Drive in Aurora, or the human services building located at 1690 W. Littleton Boulevard in Littleton. Gifts can also be shipped to Kala Slater at 14980 E. Alameda Drive in Aurora.

Those interested in learning more about the program or donating an item can find more information at arapahoegov.com/415/Partnering-for-the-Holidays.

From a synthetic ice rink to a petting farm, Arapahoe County’s “Visit the Village” holiday-themed event offers a variety of activities for families to enjoy.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds and Event Center, located at 25690 E. Quincy Ave. in Aurora.

Attractions include meet-and-greets with Santa, a petting farm, synthetic ice rink, local vendors, inflatables, and an ornament and craft station.

The event also features a “home for the holidays”-themed gingerbread house contest. To participate, residents can drop off their decorated gingerbread house on Dec. 7 or Dec. 8 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. To sign up to participate, visit arapahoecountyeventcenter.com/f/22.

The first prize for the contest is a two-night stay at Fairfield Inn and Suites. Judges will score entries and the winner will be announced at 1 p.m. during the “Visit the Village” event Dec. 10.

To attend the event, residents can purchase a $10 ticket for general admission, or they can have free admission to the event if they donate a new, unwrapped gift for any age. The donated gifts will support the Arapahoe County Human Services’ Partnering for the Holidays gift giving program.

Anyone who's been diagnosed with cancer knows how tough the fight to beat it can be. Many survivors say they also have difficulty returning to physical activities after their treatment.

That is why the YMCA created a program to increase quality of life and decrease cancer fatigue, and some participants in Colorado say it's been lifesaving.

"It takes oxygen into every cell of my body, just working out," said Eileen Eastbridge, who is battling metastatic breast cancer. "And, it makes me happier."

Eastbridge is a two-time graduate of the Livestrong program at the Littleton Family YMCA. It's a free 12-week fitness program for cancer patients and survivors. Certified trainers help participants improve their physical well-being as they go through and recover from cancer treatments.

"Our primary interest is seeing some cardiovascular improvement and then our secondary measurement is on strength," explained Cate Majors, Senior Manager of Health & Well-being. "They meet with an instructor twice a week, make some initial assessments, take measurements and then track their progress over time."

Eastbridge says the program has made a big difference in her life, especially after medication has left her feeling weak.

"They tested me for strength and endurance, and for flexibility and balance," she told CBS News Colorado, "and I've shown improvement in all of those areas."

What she didn't expect, however, was an improvement in her emotional well-being. Participants also gather in groups during their training sessions to talk about their cancer journey and offer one another support.

"Just the conversations that we've had, they've been life-changing," Eastbridge said. "I have a really supportive family, but they don't get it like people here do."

Eastbridge says the community at the YMCA has been critical in her cancer battle. She will continue to lean on the friends she's made and the trainers as they have given her strength, in every sense of the word.

"It makes me live strong!" she said with a smile.

The Livestrong program is available for all cancer patents, no matter what stage they're in – from stage 1 to remission.

“Honestly, it’s really scary being a first-generation student, but it’s a point of pride because I am the first person in my family to decide that a bachelor's degree is what I want and I’m here to pursue it,” said CMU student Victoria Bell.

Bell is from Littleton, Colorado, and has always been interested in history. She loved the way her high school teacher Mr. Woodman brought the subject to life through storytelling and wanted to focus her career on piecing stories of the past together.

Bell's transition from high school to college was a rough one for several reasons.

“Other than being a first-generation student, having absolutely no idea what was going on at any given time — I'm also an only child, so having to suddenly share my space with a roommate and be away from mom and dad for the first time, even if it's only a 4-hour drive, was really jarring,” Bell said. “I was not having a good time the first few months of freshman year, but once I got settled in, it was a lot easier.”

Meeting fellow students with common interests was key to feeling at home at CMU for Bell.

“My favorite part of CMU is the culture. Everyone is really nice and welcoming here. Everyone says hi and holds doors and acts like it's more of a community than some of the other colleges that I visited before coming here. Everyone I met here was super excited that I was prospective freshman, but when I went to other colleges, that just didn't seem to be the thing.”

Bell found her Mavily in her academic courses, Fencing Club and Mesa Catholic.

“I’d also like to thank the TRIO team here at CMU, they have been phenomenal at helping anytime I have a question,” Bell said.

TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded program offering workshops, individualized attention and mentoring to assist first-generation, low-income and disabled students achieve their academic, personal, financial and professional goals.

“Going to CMU has positively impacted my life in such a way that now my future is unlimited. I can go pretty much wherever I want, and I can do a lot more things having a college degree than I would without,” said Bell. After graduation, she is looking forward to working as an archivist and is especially interested in clothing and fashion history.
