We prorate your rent by the day after the first 28-day billing cycle, so you don't have to pay for a full month when you only have your mobile containers and offices for a few days.

While other companies may be able to do small container modifications, most don't have an in-house fabrication staff or 90,000 sq ft fabrication facility like we do. As a result, they outsource the work on your custom container, so you don't know who's actually building it.

Rest assured knowing your modified shipping container will be built to the highest quality standards. Our certified weld and quality control inspectors check every step of the fabrication process to ensure everything is structurally sound and built to your specifications.

MESA, Arizona — June 2, 2022 – The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) and Mesa Community College (MCC) celebrate the success of the 11 EVIT Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program completers graduating from high school with a diploma, and a certificate of completion in early childhood education from MCC.

EVIT offers a unique program for high school students in early childhood education that allows them to earn a 19-credit certificate of completion from Mesa Community College in Foundations of Early Childhood Education – while still attending high school.

“This is a dream come true, our collaborative efforts over the last two years has led to the success of our first successful cohort,” said Annapurna Ganesh, program director of Early Childhood Education at MCC, “I am proud of the can-do spirit of Mrs. Paula Corbin, EVIT ECE teacher, my colleagues in the ECE program and the MCC Early College and Cashier’s Office for their continued efforts to ensure the success of the EVIT-MCC ECE partnership. We are very grateful for the funding from the Arizona Department of Economic Services (AzDES) with the Pathways scholarship for the students.”

The program is offered through dual enrollment and concurrent enrollment at MCC. Funding from the Professional Career Pathways Scholarship Program pays for the students’ college tuition, fees and textbooks.

First-year ECE students focus on early childhood philosophy, childhood development, career opportunities and current issues in safety, health, nutrition, and curriculum development.

Second-year ECE students participate in a lab setting and focus on child guidance techniques, family dynamics, observation/assessment, advanced curriculum development and classroom management.

After completion, students are able to further their education if they want to be a teacher, social worker, nurse or childcare worker. The certificate is valuable for anyone wanting to work with children.

“We are pleased that EVIT’s partnership with Mesa Community College has resulted in this great opportunity for our students,” said EVIT Superintendent Dr. Chad Wilson. “Earning their MCC certificate while still in high school puts them in an even better position to become employed or continue with more post-secondary training after leaving EVIT.”

“We are excited that this EVIT-MCC partnership is continuing to grow and in the near future, beginning in Fall 2023 (pending approval) we will have the opportunity for the students to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education – Dual Language from MCC,” said Jamie Lopez, MCC Early Childhood Education faculty.

PHOENIX — Up to 70% of water usage for municipal users in Arizona is used outside for plants, grass, and swimming pools, according to the Arizona Department of Water Resources.

Water experts around the Valley say a significant amount is likely being wasted due to leaks without residents even knowing yet.

Paulette Kelley of Scottsdale found out about her leaking irrigation system during a water check inspection with experts from Scottsdale Water Utility.

"Having a more concise idea of how much water should be used per hour, that's huge in my opinion," she told ABC15.

The utility will come to resident's homes and walk people through how to efficiently run sprinklers, pool pumps and find leaks.

They are actions that may not seem like much but Brian Biesemeyer, Executive Director of Scottsdale Water says they make a difference.

"If they (residents) can cut back 5% of that water, that's the equivalent volume of our cuts in a Tier 2 drought contingency on the Colorado," he said.

And that is the city's goal because the river is already in a Tier 1 drought, declared in 2022, which triggered the first stage of Scottsdale's drought management plan.

The city gets a lot of its water from the Colorado River via the Central Arizona Project (CAP).

"Because of that the cutbacks on it really can in the long run impact Scottsdale," Biesemeyer said.

The Colorado River makes up about 75% of Scottsdale's water supply. Though officials say over the last six years an average of 13% of that has been used to recharge groundwater .

12% is from recycled water and 7% comes from the Verde and Salt Rivers via Salt River Project (SRP) to properties that were used as collateral for a federal loan to build Roosevelt Dam in 1903.

6% percent is pumped from the ground.

The City of Mesa is also in the first stage of its drought plan which includes more intensive consumer education about conservation programs.

"Residents can receive up to $575 if they take out at least 500 square feet of grass, replace it with a desert friendly low water xeriscape," Donna DiFrancesco, city Conservation Coordinator said.

Her job is to try and get people to curb water use from the yard to the toilet.

"If you hear the water running, if you actually just see a little ripple in the bowl, that means you have a leak. And the problem with it is that you don't really realize it because it just goes right down the drain," she said.

It's the kind of water waste that city hoping to get people to recognize one household at a time since Mesa also gets 53% of its water from Central Arizona Project. 36% comes from SRP to entitled properties, and 11% is ground water.

Tempe relies most heavily on water from SRP because much the property in that city was put up for collateral. In 2021 the City said 82 percent of its water was provided to SRP entitled properties. 7% was supplied by groundwater. 6% was CAP water of which average of nearly 18% has been used to for Tempe Town Lake to make up for evaporation over the last five years according to City officials. The City also pointed out it has 10 wells that that "capture and recirculate nearly 100% of water lost to seepage."

The final 5% comes from a separate allotment of the Salt and Verde Rivers.

Despite its small reliance on CAP water Tempe has declared stage zero of its drought plan.

Water manager Craig Caggiano said the goal is to get more people to use available conservation programs.

In early June the City of Phoenix activated a stage one water alert and it's drought management as a result of this year's cuts to Arizona allotment of the Colorado River water.

"If we can do that and we can continue to advance the culture of conservation we can potentially avoid future mandates for water restrictions," he said.

Each of the cities have been storing water in the ground for this situation, but as surface water like the Colorado becomes less plentiful, they must find new ways to do that. Biesemeyer said he expects highly treated recycled water will become a big part of that in the future.

" I truly believe we'll get to the point where direct potable reuse will be a standard for us in the Valley," he said.

Until then, cities are relying on residents to learn how to live with less water.

This story is part of a series highlight the water supplies and drought plans for cities around the Valley as the situation on the Colorado River worsens.

ABC15 received reports of delayed flights at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The following is a statement from a representative at Sky Harbor:

"There were a small number of flights holding but it's important to note that number can change rapidly. What's more important is that passengers or people picking up loved ones at the airport should confirm their flight status with their airline before coming out to the airport. The airlines are very good about updating their passengers but it always pays to double-check. Travelers can check on their airline’s websites or by going to skyharbor.com."

We haven’t had rain in months, so the dozens of wildfires we’ve seen this year could be just a preview of what’s to come.

MESA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - Extreme heat means everything is about to get a lot drier. We haven’t had rain in months, so the dozens of wildfires we’ve seen this year could be just a preview of what’s to come.

It’s why Arizona’s fire prevention education is telling the public about wildfire response and preparedness. “We call these one-hour fuels. One little spark on this and it can take off,” said Brad Bramlett, a member of the National Fire Prevention Team.

Dry grass, or what experts call fuel, can be found along highways all over the state. “In just a matter of minutes, especially in high winds, this could just take off,” said Bramlett.

Those extreme fire conditions are already straining resources. Bramlett said more than half of the fires in Arizona are human-caused. That’s why his agency is partnering with the U.S. Forest Service to educate people. “If you’re going down the road and your chain is dragging the ground, that spark gets over on a windy day and a blows a spark up over into the grass, it can ignite a fire,” he said.

If people do start fires that quickly spread, the Mesa Gateway Air Tanker Base has a dispatch center that will send help. “Putting this base here, it’s a centrally located base in Arizona that allows us to have a good pivot point of the whole Southwest to be able to respond to these fires,” said Chris Price, the Base Manager. He said every year, the fire season grows longer. Although we’re off to a slow fire season, they expect it to pick up during monsoon season because of lightning.

Saturday marks National Get Outdoors Day. As you plan your weekend activities, check the fire restrictions in place for each public lands agency on their website or Facebook page, and educate yourself on how to safely recreate outdoors during fire season. Here are some tips:
