Over the last decade, Peoria Eighty-Three, P83 for short, has gone from an ordinary street with some retail, restaurants and a movie theater to a noteworthy entertainment district.
The name P83 was created in 2010, and giant blue and yellow signs started going up around 2013. Now, West Valley residents know the area surrounding the Peoria Sports Complex as P83.
The district has recently gained a number of hotels, restaurants and a dinner theater. And it is still expanding, with plans recently announced to add three new restaurants along 83rd Avenue.
Here's your guide to every restaurant at P83 in Peoria.

The mixed-use development will be next to the Peoria Sports Complex on the south side of West Paradise Lane, east of 83rd and west of 79th avenues, and will include three recently announced restaurants.
Fox Restaurant Concepts announced in June that it would open two restaurants at the new P83 development: Blanco Taco Cocina + Cantina and North Italia.

No opening dates have yet been confirmed.
Menu highlights at Blanco include Tucson chimichangas, slow-cooked barbecue pork tacos, carne asada fajitas and traditional cheese enchiladas. Pair them with a jalapeño pineapple or smashed strawberry and mandarin margarita or a round of Mexican beers.

On behalf of KBC Advisors Arizona, Phoenix-based Stevens-Leinweber Construction (SLC) has started construction on Empire 101, a new Class A industrial project fronting the Loop 101 freeway, north of Cactus Road in Peoria, Arizona.
LEARN MORE: LogistiCenter at Copperwing — at 10 million SF — breaks ground in El Mirage
Located just 12 minutes from the new TSMC semiconductor Fab plant and with access to almost 2.5 million residents within a 30-minute drive, Empire 101 represents a significant infill site selection opportunity for industrial tenants seeking strategic space in the metro Phoenix market.
“We were thrilled to acquire this land site in April 2022 and are even more excited to officially begin construction on the project,” said KBC Advisors Partner and Arizona market lead Mike Freret. “In metro Phoenix’s tightening industrial sector, finding freeway-fronting infill locations like this is rare, but their development is critical to the local supply chain and growth in boom markets like the semiconductor industry. We will put this site to productive use and provide more jobs, closer to home.”
When complete, Empire 101 will total 152,134 square feet at 89th Avenue and Sweetwater Road. It will feature 32’ clear height, 21 dock doors, generous power, ESFR sprinklers and a fully secured, 185’ truck court, as well as a 65,000-square-foot secured yard. The site can park 144 automobiles, expandable to over 200 total spaces.
“KBC has listened to the needs of today’s modern industrial user and incorporated those requirements into the Empire 101 construction plan,” said Stevens-Leinweber Construction Vice President Erik Powell. “Being able to deliver this type of contemporary product on such a prime infill site is rare. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute.”
Stevens-Leinweber Construction serves as Empire 101’s general contractor. Deutsch Architecture is the architect. Mike Ciosek and Eric Bell of Kidder Mathews are the building’s exclusive leasing brokers.
“Empire 101 will be delivered with HVAC units, electrical panels and office in place, heading off the recent challenges of lead times for equipment and making this space turnkey for a quick move-in,” said Ciosek. “The site’s large yard storage is also extremely rare and hard to find at a freeway-fronting infill development parcel almost anywhere in the Valley. This will be a highly desirable project.”
Empire 101 is located 30 minutes northwest of downtown Phoenix and Sky Harbor International Airport, 15 minutes from Glendale Municipal Airport, and just 12 minutes from the new TSMC Fab plant.
Construction on Empire 101 is underway now, with completion expected in January 2024.

PEORIA, AZ — Genuine Concepts has opened its sixth location of ‘The VIG,’ and now the West Valley has a new upscale neighborhood tavern to enjoy!
Going beyond the famous dishes of this popular chain, here’s what you can expect about the new storefront.
In a previous interview with ABC15, Tucker Woodbury, founding partner at Genuine Concepts, shared that this new location is different from the other locations because it’s not a standalone storefront. The West Valley location is located within the Park West shopping center with other restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
Nonetheless, there are some elements of it that’ll remind frequent customers of the chain that they’re inside a VIG. One of those reasons is that AV3 Design Studio was the architecture firm used for the creation of this location.
“So, when we built a store like that - and you know we call it an upscale tavern - it's got that casualness and approachability of a tavern... We hope that when we build a ‘VIG,’ [anyone] feels comfortable going there,” said Woodbury.
According to Woodbury, each VIG location gives a nod to its surroundings: “Out there [in the West Valley] the [inspiration] was Luke Air Force Base and kind of the history, so there’s just subtle touches, like the bar’s wrapped with airplane metal… with the rivets like the ones you see you’ll see on old fighter [planes],” he said.

UPDATE: The restaurant is now open. Read about everything on the menu here.
Fabio Ceschetti, the chef and owner of popular West Valley Italian restaurant Fabio on Fire, has announced plans to open Fabio On Fire Gelateria & Panini in Peoria.
In addition to sandwiches and house-made ice creams, Fabio on Fire Gelateria & Panini will also have a market selling imported products from Puglio and Piedmont, like prosciutto and cream of ricotta.
The new business is taking over the 1,500-square-foot space formerly occupied by Wow Wow Lemonade in the Four Corners shopping center at the corner of Happy Valley and Lake Pleasant roads. It will offer indoor and outdoor seating with a 55-person capacity.
Unlike his sit-down restaurant in Peoria, the new concept is more casual. He will not offer alcoholic beverages and the focus will be on the sandwiches and gelato.
"I'm gonna make something very unique for Arizona that nobody has," he said. "Hopefully, people will enjoy it."
Eat like a local:100 essential restaurants in metro Phoenix
The menu features woodfired oven paninis layered with Italian meats and cheeses. And gelato.
Ceschetti makes the sandwich bread from pizza dough and stuffs them with "all the good things imported from Italy," he said.
Ceschetti uses high hydration dough, which results in tangier flavor, an open crumb and thinner, crispier crust that's the perfect vehicle for toppings like pistachio mortadella paired with stracchino, an Italian cow's milk cheese, burrata and pistachio spread for the La golosa sandwich.
Rocco is made with prosciutto crudo, bufala stracciatella, cherry tomatoes, baby arugula and garlic aioli may.
He will also bake a batch of his perfect bread every morning. But it's first come, first served.
Ceschetti wants everything to be as close to their Italian counterparts as possible, so even the gelato machine is imported from Italy. He plans to have rotating weekly gelato flavors like pistachio, amarena, stracciatella and berries. Currently, the most popular flavor at Fabio on Fire is lemon cake, which will be on the menu at the new place.
Ceschetti expects to open in late spring. And if this location does well, he plans to open more locations.
Details: 24775 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway, Suite 101, Peoria. fabioonfire.com.
Hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
